Newport Jazz Festival 2020 Initial Lineup: Norah Jones, Wynton Marsalis, Diana Krall, Khruangbin, Cory Wong and More

The Newport Jazz Festival has announced the initial lineup for its 66th edition. The performers, curated by Artistic Director Christian McBride, include headliners Norah Jones, Wynton Marsalis and Diana Krall. The festival will take place August 7-9 at Fort Adams State Park in Newport, R.I.

In addition to the top billers, Newport will also see performances by trio Khruangbin, drummer Makaya McCraven, reggae legend Jimmy Cliff, and pop-funk guitarist Cory Wong. In addition, there will be a residency by Robert Glasper, and Christian McBride himself will perform with A Christian McBride situation.

“This year’s Newport Jazz Festival continues the tradition of presenting jazz, as George Wein would say, ‘from J to Z,'” said McBride via press release. “For three days in August, all eyes and ears in the jazz world focus on what happens at Newport. It’s a thrill to present everyone from the great Wynton Marsalis, who’s making his first appearance at the festival in 9 years, to Diana Krall, who’s making her first appearance at the festival in over 20 years… There’s just way too many great artists to name. Just make sure you come. You won’t be disappointed!”
