Apple’s $3B Beats Music deal made Dr. Dre the highest-paid musician in 2014

When Apple bought Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine’s Beats Music for a cool $3 billion last May, Dre secured the top spot on Forbes highest-paid musicians list for 2014.

Not only did he take home the most of any musician in history in one year, but Dre also out-earned the second highest earner, Beyoncé, who made a paltry $115 million by comparison. According to Forbes, it’s also the biggest disparity between the No. 1 and 2 spots ever.
