My VIRGIN Jazzfest Experience
For Women Only!

Do you remember your first time?

The excitement of anticipation....
the uncertainty of what to expect....
the pressure from your friends....
the discomfort....
the ecstacy.....
the disappointment.....

All my friends had told me how great this would be...that at my age, I should certainly experience the Jazzfest.

My first day, a Wednesday, was exhiliarating and exhausting. I didn't think the evening would ever end. It began slowly, with a leisurely ride through the Garden District to my very first crawfish boil, then to a club, then two, then five then nine!!! clubs. My guide enthusiastically took me from place to place as part of LMNOP.....but I have to admit that I was just a little disappointed because not every act was great...in fact some were downright painful. By the end of the night, I was so tired and sore that I could not go on. I went home without my guide and slept like a baby.

Painful-- nine clubs, tired, in a club, out of a club, in and out, in and out, ENDLESSLY

Bloody-- I did not follow Dusk's recommendations -- I guess didn't wear the raisins in my sandals long enough.

Emotion-- I almost cried aware that I was supposed to cry -- the tears -- finally came in the Gospel Tent.

Climax-- confused not sure if I was doing it right tried to pace myself -- must I admit to Sister Wilhelmina the multiple ecstacies???

My guide??

(editor's note): That's it--it ends there. I don't get it at all -- I just don't get it. Hope she (maybe it's a he?) had a good time. I know I did at my first Jazzfest.
