Maria and i were able to help the evacuees while working at the lsu athelectic center, she was very busy. We have finished our duty, and are currently staying in breaux bridge la. , the cajuns are so friendly, welcoming, i got sent to the e.r.,last night suffering acute abdominal cramping, i was screaming in pain. Im now so weak i can hardly stand up. I must have caught something from one of the pts from nola. Can anyone do me a favor and look up the number for the cdc,s infectious disease hotline, i need to report my symptoms, in case of an outbreak, the pts from nola were so wonderful, proud, bewildered, frightened, many had missing loved ones, im greatful god allowed me to be able to obtain a degree in respiratory therapy, plus being able to go to school at the mayo clinic in rochester minnesota. There are many catholics from nola, cajun contry, i gave my bottle of holy water to some displaced nola people who have a 95 yr old mother currently in a nursing home in breaux bridge.

To the Pet de Kat Krewe and all others of the New Orleans persuasion! I, Father Sarducci, being truly a man of the cloth, do engage in my annual blessing of the New Orleans Jazz Festival and Heritage Fair for the year (C. E.) 2005. I bestow upon the fest the good weather that I enjoyed during 20 or so days which I have actually been present on said Fair Grounds while the wonderful musicians and artists and food folks do perform to delight the taste, the soul, and all of the senses. I wish each of you safe journeys and much enjoyment and do wish that the fair be blessed with sunshine and joy. God bless you each and everyone, Peace and Joy, Father Sarducci

BLESSING THE FESTIVAL Ok, the time has arrived -- I, Father Sarducci, being of sound mind although just as Krazy as all the other Kats, do hereby bless the days of the world's premier music festival, otherwise known as the New Orleans (baby) Jazz and Heritage Festival. My blessing and wish for all of you is that you should have as good of weather as I have enjoyed in my 20 plus days spent at the Festival from 1986 through 2003. I have always enjoyed sunshine and maybe once got slightly wet -- and since I have been blessing the festival the days have always been good. I wish to bless the festival so that the string should be unbroken and the fellowship of Kats should go on forever! May you all have safe travels and may you all enjoy your days at the festival and your nights in one of the greatest wonders of God's great creation -- the city and culture of New Orleans. God bless and keep you all! Father Sarducci

WOW!! Very stylish.Thankyou, ibjamn for the pointer to this wonderful site...I am just about to do my first Jazz Fest...
having stumbled onto your site backwards (ie from the grid), and having read the profound mission statement (mas o menos: support (a)live music where ever found), i realized that i am already a kat. hence, i hereby declare myself a designated initate kat krewe (or dikk for short). please don't confuse this with designated driver...it wouldn't be safe. now, as a dikk i require three things: 1) info on krewe gatherings 2) an official krewe shirt 3) info on what bonehead scheduled tab and subdudes in parallel cubes.
I found a great new neighborhood restaurant today. I was out seeing patients, passed Big Shirley's & stopped there for lunch. It's a cozy, small room, white cloth tablecloths, friendly waitresses & VERY reasonable prices. I had the fried oyster platter which comes with fries & onion rings & hush puppies, a lettuce/tomato or potato salad and a choice of sides, which include mac 'n' cheese, greens, candied yams, jambalaya, etc. It was all very good & the mac 'n' cheese is the real deal, as good as mine ;-). The oysters were medium size & fried hard, which is the way I like 'em. I wanted to get the hamburgers, too, after I saw one, but that would have just been greedy! :-) It's a little farther than I thought, 5 blocks down Esplanade, just the the riverside of Claiborne. Ask for Christmas, she was my waitress & fussed at me for not bringing anyone with me & asked how I heard about them. I told her about PDKK and that, via this message board, there will potentially be ALOT of people with me at Jazz Fest. She asked about the board & I told her about www.petdekat.com, cuz I couldn't think of how to get to the DreaBoard. She said she was going to check it out this afternoon after work, so I'm going to post this over over here. I see this place as being great for breakfast, lunch or dinner (not dressy, but comfortable.) They also have a small bar, so I assume you can get cocktails there, too. Total bill for my lunch with a glass of iced tea was $11.45 w/tax. When you go to Big Shirley's, ask for CHristmas! (yes, that's her real name & no, she wasn't born on Christmas.) :-) Jenn
Hey you krazy kats! It's been 5 years, but a large passel of FeatFans will be descending on NOLA this year. If you run into any of us out and about, don't be shy - we don't mind a good party. Keep an eye out for a few Hot Tomato Ladies, replete with Red Hats, possibly a tiara here or there, and of course Little Feat attire. Several of us should be at the fairgrounds of course. Any of you thinking of catching Little Feat at Southport Hall on 4/30? Please join us. We're also cruising for the Rads, subdudes, Gov't Mule, Jon Cleary, at Lounge Lizards, ad infinitum. We hope to have some Feat goodies for distribution. We don't mind sharing the music. Where's the tequila??? I'll check back later. party on... Mac
Padre! So sorry we won't be running into you this year! You'll be missed. We will raise something or another in your honour. Waiting for your "official" blessing in a few weeks.
Any of y'all know any contacts for renting a house during JF week 2? any help appreciated. Ballard justballardATyahoo.com
Good to see all the action on these boards. I will not be down this year but will bless the fest to the best of my ability! God bless you and keep you safe in the meantime!
Dis is kewlll! I just stumbled across your website. Is there really a place called Dekattrois? I've been to Mamou a bazillion times to get wasted at Fred's (stayed a short distance away at Chicot Campground) and never realized there was such a place nearby! Thanks again and I'll keep in touch with you guys!
What happened at the Jazzfest site? The chat board SQL server went boom!!
2004 FEST STUFF
http://www.petdekat.com/2004/
Hey, PDK'rs I'd have to take issue with the motto of this group being loosely disorganized festivalists, we are VERY disorganized festivalists :o) This is our 3rd Fest but 1st as a PDKK. Looking forward to meeting y'all. Can someone put me in contact with the source of a Far Flung Kat shirt? Please put our Waterfront Blues Festival on your list for the 4th of July weekend. It's a righteous event. Y'all are invited.
There is a Jazz Fest message board open on the EZBoard, y'all are welcome to come by and hang for awhile http://pub205.ezboard.com/fjambandsfrm63 Peace Michelle

It's Monday evening, the 8th of September, and the DELPHI board is unaccessible. Any one have any idea what is going on ?
It's Moday evening, the 8th of September, and the DELPHI board is unaccessible. Any one have any idea what is going on ?
OMG, salaaming to the Kat Gods who removed all magenta from my burned out retinas.....great new looks to the site, guys!
Diggin' the new background!! Thanks a mil' for setting these bleary-weary eyes at ease!! So....anything new with the NY/NJ/MA krewe??? I've been holed up in my apt, oblivious to any social gatherings of PDK.
Been swallowed by a orca just set free and need to know what are the dates for our next aztec vacation or are there any yet?
Steve Apple, you rock! :-)
my fellow guys iam here todayoooooo
This is a cool addition to the Drea Board. Just stopped by to say "hi". And yes thank you Father Sarducci for the fine weather. And for blessing Joe's goofy little book. ;o)
Father S., thanks for the fine weather
See, the weather was good today. You listen to the Father and it will be well with you! :-)
happy trails to all you first weekenders who are already there!!!
alcohol??? us???? :-) mostly you just have to be willing to be associated with us! and when someone yells out "where you at??" you shout back "Pet De Kat!!!" it doesn't hurt if you buy a t-shirt too to help defray costs of the website and stuff... look for Joe at Liuzza's by the track after the fest or send in an order through the kat wear page... it helps pay for beads, buttons, the site, and various other lagniappes through the year... but that's pretty much it! if you're ready to pass a good time, you're ready for the PDKK!!
Howdy folks, I've met a few of you PDK folks at various fests and I've always forgotten to ask how to join up. And its a vicious rumor that alcohol had anything to do with that!!! ;-) Is there an initiation or something? Just kidding. Anywho, I'll be at the second weekend again this year and I'll be looking for you guys... Where ya at? ;-)
Wondering if there are any tapers out there that will be at either Brass Band Blowout show the first weekend? Friday the 25thATHowlin' Wolf, or Sunday the 27thATTwiRoPa Mills. I won't be able to be there, but would like a copy of the shows - so anyone that could or will be able to get a good audience recording - or sound board - drop me a line and let me know how to get a copy. Thanks.
has been a while - good to be back :)
nice site
I've got to give up my room at the Frenchmen first weekend, and would love to pass it off to someone who can appreciate it's great vibe and fantastic location - a stone's throw from Dragon's Den, El Matador, Spotted Cat, Blue Nile, Cafe Brasil, Snug Harbor, dba and more. Great food in the hood, too. The room is nice, the staff friendly, there's a little pool in the courtyard, it's kind of btw. a B& B and hotel. Great for catching sets on the street, coming back to the room as necessary, going back out again... If you're interested, email me at stevesragATyahoo.com. It's for the first four nights of first wknd, and it's like 179/night I think (after taxes). In any event, enjoy!
one more month. one more month. one more month. one more month.
I am looking to rent my house for both weekends of Jazzfest. The house is literally a stones throw from the fairgrounds (one block), and in a very nice neighborhood. Here's a list of what it includes: - Five rooms with comfortable sleeping for four to five people (one queen size bed, a nice sofa bed, and a comfy couch) - Nice big kitchen - Front porch - Back sun room and courtyard - Bathroom with shower and tub I would need a commitment of a two night minimum stay for each weekend. I am asking for $400 per night plus a $1000 returnable deposit. You and I would sign a written agreement of course, to ensure the safety of your deposit and my house. If interested, call me at (504) 945-9540 (if no answer, I'm on line), or email me at djdannyoATaol.com
have available rooms in awesome guest house in french quarter for first week of jazzfest. call 877-588-6874 or email kyleATrocksuitcase.com

As sook as I get my act more together I will try to put up a Reservation List for those who will be attending. PLEASE Remember to make your decision early and send in your money so that we can have the adequate amount of food to feed the exact number of people who will be attending. ++++++GET FEST ACTIVE+++++++ Where Ya At?....Pet De Kat!!!

Hey, everybody, just letting you know that the Classic Mardi Gras Songs Profiles is set to premiere over the parade season 2003. Bill Taylor and I have been working on 3-5 minute radio pieces about the Mardi Gras standards including Carnival Time, Big Chief, Second Line, Mardi Gras Mambo, New Suit, Do Whatcha Wanna, and a couple others. In each of the pieces, people who recorded and wrote the songs tell us what it was like and what they are about and what they think of them now. They start on Friday 2/21 in the afternoon and continue until Fat Tuesday. Please keep your ear out for them. www.wwoz.org Thanks and happy Mardi Gras, dk

Hey, kats and kittens! I'm booked for JazzFest -- 4/23 to 4/28 -- and am bringing my then 15-year old son. Thought I'd try to jump start some conversation hereabouts.
That "Rock & Roll" comment was a little funnier attached to the "Country" entry. Sorry...I'm feeling a bit punchy as well!

Hey! I'm wondering if someone can help me out. My friends and I were at the crawfish boil during Jazzfest '01 (we were the crazy Canucks hangin' out with Orf) and we loved it so much we want to have one here in Edmonton this summer. Thing is, we need some advice on where to get some good crawfish, and we need to find a place that will ship to Canada. Also, we're looking at feeding about 100 people, so we're figuring on getting about 200lbs o' the critters. Does that seem realistic? Any info would be greatly appreciated. And by the way, if any of you want to trek up to one of the best Canadian festivals, the Edmonton Folk Festival is the perfect place for a good ole Pet De Kat gathering! August 8-11, 2002. Check out www.edmontonfolkfest.org. Thanks!!
hey now..... just checkin to see who's gonna be at the crawfish fest in stanhope, nj june 1st & 2nd? i sure know i wont miss it!!! www.crawfishfest.com
Mopsy, I'm so sorry you couldn't find da boil. I wasn't even there this year, but as a sister Bostonian I felt I ought to commiserate. Drop me an email so I can update you on any local kat gatherings.

Hello everyone! It's been a few years since my last fest. Had a wonderful time. Can't wait to see pics. Some of my favorites: the Monday night Tipitina's benefit for high school instruments, Kermit Ruffins & Irvin Mayfield "Battle of the Bands" at the Parish, the "Brass Blow- Out "at Twi Ro Pa, Mofro at the Old Point Bar, Music Factory performances of Hombres Calientes, and Henry Butler. It was pleasure to meet so many Kats. Hope to see you in Miami in some day.
Hi everyone!!! I'm still just a name on a message board b/c I COULD NOT find the crawfish boil!! I walked up and down St. Charles, Magazine and everything in between for 2 hours. I was supposed to pay at the door for 2 people and I feel horrible for being a "no-show". I feel even worse for being in N.O. for 10 days and not meeting most of the Krewe!! Who should I send my $$ to for the boil. I know that it was a "pay to play or pass" kind of deal. Cara (the stray Kat!!)
Hi everyone! I joined Pet de kat during Jazz Fest! Thanks for the great fest and night cubes! See you in 3 weeks!!!!!
regarding "censored" stuff... this is done in the guestbook program, not by your crack team of web people... the kat krewe may believe in freedom of speech but our ISP takes issue with certain words... :-) so, gosh darn it, watch your mouth or the software will wash it out with soap... :-)
Mopsy, we are going down tomorrow for 1st weekend, won't be there 2nd weekend. :-( I see you posted over on the Delphi forum about going to the Boil. I'll see you there! :-)
ibjamin...I'm everywhere!! Like I've done any work for the past two weeks....just JF stuff. But since I'm typing so furiously, I look like I'm doing the work of 10 people! Are you going to the 2nd board mtg down there? I won't be down in time for the first one this Fri. :( I'm thinking of getting a pair of bunny ears for my I.D!
Hi Mopsy, I glad to see you made it over here from the Fest board. Hope to meet you at Fest! Welcome! :-)
Hey Scott carport.... so when's Jake comin' to 'Lanna. I need to see Junioraka Randy so I can cool bean him ;)
oops....."darned" career thing!!
Hey Dave...I haven't seen Bruce Mandaro/slipknot around here yet. I haven't followed too many people since I moved up here. I was doing that censored career thing and falling asleep at my desk after a late night wasn't too kosher. I have been known to be out and about on the weekends...Boston's a small city. I just may have run into you somewhere....literally! hehe.
Just sending out good Gris Gris for all attendee's of Jazz Fest. I'll be with you in spirit, especially at Tips on Saturday, the Fess Stage on Sunday, Tips on Monday. Be safe, have a blast, and party til the money runs out... Enjoy!
for all you kats who have submitted pics and descriptions for the "who's who" page... i leave for fest on thursday morning early, but i'm still hoping to get some more of your bio stuff up on the web by then... unfortunately as the departure gets closer the days seem to get shorter... for all you kats who haven't sent stuff, try and get into as many other peoples' pictures as you can... :-) maybe we can use them for your who's who listing... or maybe you'll show up in someone's review... or maybe it will be that last piece of evidence we need to convict... who knows... :-)
hey now Mopsy!! nice to see someone else from "home"... :-) looking forward to meeting you at the fest... re- your GD and JGB daze... do you check out Bruce Mandaro/slipknot around town? i'm wondering if our paths have crossed before....

where's the cubes?!?!?! :-)
Happy Jazz Fest To The World! Countdown is T minus 24 Daze! :)
many of the krewe members make buttons to hand out on the fairgrounds as lagniappe... usually you have to run into someone there to score one... i don't know of any being made available through the web site... if Neen is making button offers, you might want to check the link to her grids and see if that's where it is... otherwise i think you might need to hunt her down on the sacred ground...
neen, you mentioned petdekat buttons somewhere on the site. how do i get one
http://www.steveapple.com/pdkkcares.htm

HE TEXT IS TOO HARD TO READ ON THIS BACKGROUND >
Okay, the html code I facetiously entered at the end of the sentence didn't print -- a bracketed COLOR=PURPLE.
Hey, everyone. Just like old times (except it looks hot pink to me too). Duh, how 'bout trying ?
for those who haven't checked lately, the kat bio section is open for business... we finally started getting peoples listings in there... so if you've sent mail to be included, you may want to send again... if you haven't sent mail and want to be included, this would be a good time to do so...
ok, so everyone who thought this wasn't purple enough, how do you like it now? your friendly neighborhood web staff aims to please... we aim slow, and we don't always hit what we aim at, but at least we aim... :-)
Yes, it is purple :) Hello all :)
Yes dis is a pinky place.
This board is more magenta than purple - I feel totally mislead...
YES IT IS GARLIC!
Hi Shady Kitty ... long time no sea!
The purple board! Glad to be back in the sandpile!
I noticed Shane Theriot's website on there- heard him last year- he is one of the best guitarists I've heard- wish the Nevilles gave him more of a chance to burn...
Happy New Year to the Krewe. I am going to be in New Orleans from the 15th to the 18th of January. Will kiss the ground for all you Kats!
oh, to be in SoFla, now that New Years Eve is here...
I WISH YOU A HEALTHY NEW YEAR. SEE YOU AT THE FESTIVAL!
I got pink eye from you.
I love the board, but the hot pink hurts my eyes!
Keep up da good work, Da Ve!
it's a guestbook that doubles as a chat board... :-) i have no idea what's up with the dates... for now, let's just do the time warp again and i'll check into it later...
19101 = 101 years after 1900 !?!? 2001, what a long, strange trip it's been...
That's right Zybon, it's both! Two, two, two objects in one!
Hey, we're waaay in the future: 19101. I confused.
Helloooo! Is this a chat board or guest book?
Happy Holidays to our adopted family on the USS Elrod... just a short note to let you know that we here at PDKK central are getting your emails... don't thank us we thank YOU... wishing you godspeed and safe home...
Wow...I had no idea this existed...way cool Da Ve!!! How many days left til the fest?
Looking forward to those additions and updates! I mean it isn't as if you have a life or something, right?
hi all!! sorry but we had a temporary disruption in service... but we be back now! also, now that summer vacations and things are pretty much falling away into the past, look for some new additions and changes this fall!
No new postings for a while... I thought ya might be gettin a bit lonely so I dropped in to say hi ....... HI !!!!
At her memorial service two things stuck in my mind. One was "She Rambled." The other was she outdrank the Mexican Army.
Woohoo, looking good! :-)
Chester: that page does not load!
Go see this: www.nakednews.com
Finally made it over here! Lookin' good Dahvay!! (o: I think I have a very old Jazz Fest review somewhere... I'll try to unearth it. Hope to see some of you over at Frannipalooza this afternoon. John Mooney at 5:15PM. Wen
HEY HOW COME THE LINK FOR BADCANDY.COM HASN'T BEEN ADDED TO THE LINKS PAGE YET???!! Nice work Da Ve! I just KNOW you love playing Master... It ain't as prestigious as being a Goddess but it will do :-P
Da Ve, I sent a bunch of reviews & past photos over to ya a little bit ago, including your first jazz fest review (just incase you didn't have a copy, I thought you would enjoy seeing it again). *I hope this doesn't bring your mail server to it's knees.
Nice job, bro Love da purple. Reminds of the good ol' daze. Bunch of '99-'00 photos up over on Delphi, if ya want fer over here. Grab 'em or let me know and I'll email 'em to ya.
Hey Da Ve! Great job on the website! I'll be sending some pics from the Fest and the Boil as soon as I can get off my lazy *** to do so!
Hey DaVe! Isn't it the truth! We couldn't believe we never met youATJF! The last Sunday, we were at Paky Saaeverda & met Dan (Polky), he said he had jusat seen you and had seen you every day at Liuzzas. We never made it to Liuzzas cuz we were shuttling back and forth to City Park. Are you planning on going to R&R? I understand that's a smaller fest. You've done a great job on this website, by the way! PS If you live in "outer Morovia".....where does that put me???? :-D
Drea, don't listen to him... his foot was broke BEFORE he fell into my toilet... :-) as much as i hate to see someone having a tough time, it was funny as censored...
Jen, we're going to have to get together for drinks some weekend... i can't believe you live so close and we had to go all the way to NOLA to NOT meet each other... :-)
Glad to finally have a new home. Great job Da ve! Whew...it was a another great Fest wasn't it? It was nice to see everyone again this year. Sorry I didn't get a chance to meet all the new Kats. Maybe next year, or at some other event.
I heard Joe fell in the toilet and broke every bone in his foot. That was why he was limping the other day. Also, he made himself some lovely boxers from all the stamps people sent to him instead of POSTAL MONEY ORDERS. Did you see them?
Beautiful job, well done, oh mighty webmaster! I wondered why it said http://www.petdekat.com on all those balloons! (Thank you Joe and Marisol!)
The new website is fabulous! We had a great fest this year (as always), but didn't get to meet as many Kats as we had hoped. We are already looking forward to next year & have bought our tickets for Rhythm&Roots Fest in RI for Labor Day Weekend! Hope to meet more NE Kats there! :-)
I miss you too...
I love our new home. Thanks Webmaster :o) Hope everyone had a wonderful fest this year! I wish I had another crawfish enchilada! Only 347 daze left.
NEW ADDITIONS!!!! Pictures of the PDKK Crawfish Boil and Maggie and Eric's Jazz Fesst Wedding have been posted in the "Reviews" section!
