The Pet de Kat Krewe invites you to our Daze Between party on Wednesday, April 27th at Rosy's Jazz Hall. [Click for TICKETS and more info]
Sonny Landreth of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana is simply one of the most innovative players on the scene today. His unique chording technique and fiery precision captures the soulful energy of the music of South Louisiana. While Landreth’s stylings have been known for years in his native state, his stately performances as a sideman for John Hiatt established his reputation internationally. A deep understanding of the intricacies of the electric guitar and passionate songwriting that reflects his Louisiana upbringing define his solo work.
Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes are New Orleans’ most innovative rock act. The members of the band met at Loyola University where they earned degrees as classically trained musicians. Utilizing a range of instruments including harmonica and violin and featuring a full horn section, the group delivers gutsy performances that center on their incredible musicianship, stunning arrangements and oftentimes whimsical lyrics.
The Sketchy Strings, a chamber music ensemble which includes three members of the Dirty Notes, feature symphonic instruments including the cello, violin and viola. While the group is classically oriented, they promise invigorating song selections that will reveal their classical roots without straying too far from the rock-oriented music of the Dirty Notes.
Louisiana HayWired promises to be an incredible night of awesome music. The Sketchy Strings set will segue directly into the performance by Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes. Sonny Landreth headlines with his longtime trio featuring Kenneth Blevins on drums and David Ransom on bass.
Bands who played at past Pet de Kat Krewe DAZE BETWEEN PARTIES include: Carolyn Wonderland; The Dirty Dozen Brass Band; Chubby Carrier; The Wild Magnolias
